Regarding Treatment of Minors

Please be aware that state and federal law may impose limitations on the ability to withhold or withdraw blood transfusions or blood therapy from minors, particularly in life-threatening situations.

The Center for Bloodless Medicine and Surgery, Jackson Memorial Hospital, the University of Miami School of Medicine and all participating physicians must follow the law and, therefore, must reserve the right to undertake any and all steps and legal proceedings necessary under the law.

Please consult with your physician or the Center in advance if you are considering such measure in the care and treatment of a minor.
